Anyone ever get lifted over the turnstiles in the good old days. ?

Growing up as a juvenile , my dad used to take me to Ninian Park in the early 60’s to watch Cardiff City in the First Division( when they had a good team !!) The queues for the boys turnstiles were very long compared to the adults who got inside the ground much quicker than the youngsters. I was outside waiting to get in praying to God that my dad would be waiting for me on the other side ,before making our way to our favourite spot to watch the game.
After several games my dad and me both queued in the adult turnstiles to save any further delays ,and like many of you out there ,I was lifted over the turnstile , not being aware that the money for me would go in the man’s pocket !
All I know is that I was glad to be inside, the same time as my dad !! This went on for quite a while until I was old enough to go to a game with my school friends and let off the leash.
It seems laughable now, the way the game was then ,compared to how it is run now. I am just glad I was around at the time when football was “the people’s game”.
