3-0 looked good bur ended 3-2 and they should have had a penalty as well.

So not a new dawn I wouldn't have thought.

And if Sterling have started scoring 4 months ago we might have made the World cup final.

If Harry bloody Kane had knocked in that sitter when were 1-0 up and bossing the first half in the semi final is probably the bigger issue .

Never get a bigger chance than that to have made a world cup final .

    Absolutely heart breaking .

Results and failures like that only seem to get worse as the years pass. And when we've gone out of future tournaments in just the group stages, then we will keep going back to almost making (and totally throwing away the chances of making) the 2018 WC Final.

And again after starting very well last night away to Spain, we did our best to throw it away, but that was a very good result actually.

We won....rejoice. Had it been a thrashing of 3,4 or 5 nil it would be the same old same old replies of 'We're still as s.hit etc' nothing's been learned.

We beat SPAIN in their own backyard!

And I also said it was/is a very good result Brin, as I and the majority were expecting nothing more than a draw at best. If we can beat Croatia at Wembley theres every chance of us winning this group now (what happens after that though, if you win the group ? lol).

Amongst other things that I like about southgate, is the fact he doesnt seem absolutely fixated with only selecting players grom the "big six". Theres a real energy and enthusiasm about this current crop of young lions.

Theres certainly an infectious likeability about Gareth Southgate and they way hes taken to this role, and remember its a role that hardly anybody wanted him to get in the first place.
The squad of players have got the usual things going for them like youth, enthusiasm, and enjoyment etc when they play for their country. And thats been lacking for way too long now hasn't it with our previous Intl players.

Completely agree, Brin. After Spain's demolition of Croatia this was a very fine result - and you could see the Spanish players and manager were completely downcast.
