I'm sitting on the fence with these two, I'm happy whichever of them plays. I'm sure though that our inability to score more than one goal can't be down to a lack of Stephen. He played 28 games last season, in 20 of them we didn't score more than one goal either. In that respect I think we're missing Defour and Brady more than Ward.

He scored a cracker goal I remember.

But it isn't his scoring that we miss-its his crosses into the box and his pull back to supporting players just outside the box.

Its not entirely down to him if players aren't on the end of it.

I'm not knocking him Blue, like I said I'm perfectly happy if he plays and I agree he contributes to our attack. Maybe Taylor isn't quite so effective going forward, but I don't think the difference is crucial compared to the difference Defour and Brady will make.

Our defence certainly seemed to be more confident, positive and energetic with a back five of Pope-Lowton-Mee-Tarks-Ward.

During Taylors spell in the team last season we never won a match - not his fault, but our iron curtain developed a bit of rust.

Even though Hart is playing brilliantly, there is not quite the same bonding in our defence as when Heaton or Pope is between the sticks.

Personality issue? Maybe, perhaps the feeling of togetherness is not quite the same?
