    Is that thing when folk say "aye....aye.......aye" with a sharp intake of breath after sentences purely a doric thing?

    My boss is an awful een for it, aye....aye.......aye.

    That's how a Geordie here mimics north eastern Scottish folk. So folk must do it. Its an older person thing though

    Aye, defo a old skool fairmer thing. Anyone with some bailer tow holding up the breeks will definitely say/breathe it a lot.

    Nah, quite common in the North West too. Mostly among the "real" teuchters ;-D
