    Motherwell on the slide

An awful spectacle at Fir Park ended with the loss of a goal in added time to gift St Johnstone three points. Motherwell offered effort but no suggestion of a way through the opposition defence. - External Link

The comment about us not finding a way through is what really makes me despondent. Hartley's equaliser against Rangers has been our only goal at 'my' end of the park since the league started - is that right? Today I waited in vain for the St.J 'keeper to get his knees dirty. As other posters have noted, they all know now what we're going to do. I was listening to the radio on the way up to the game, and a former EPL central defender was pointing out that he never felt that he ever needed to win headers and clear the ball; he just made sure, with judicious jostling, that the forward couldn't get any kind of clean contact to direct the ball. That's what happens to our guys week in, week out when the ball's hoofed up to them. We need to change, but, with the personnel we've got, it won't be easy.
Thanks to the equally poor form of other teams, we've not been cast adrift at the bottom of the league, but relying on that for a whole season is a rotten idea.

We need a new manager. The football has been hellish for too long. When Robinson replaced the buffoon the hard work and style of football got us out of a hole but it's not worth paying to watch. I'm only coming back when her man's gone.
