Aye, there could be an element of that. Plus, not every player gets on with every manager and there may be one or two who are looking forward to a change and going through the motions to an extent.

Having said that, we didn't lack effort yesterday, just quality. Any quality.
The thing with this is he hasn't treated certain players well at all. I've said it in the past I think his treatment of players like Krul, Colback and Mitro was pretty poor. All these players have friends throughout the team who won't like to see there mates treated in a certain way and basically forced out on some occasions. Hope this isn't the case though but it is something to think about.

Apparently we have/had 10 winnable games but Rafa is apparently working with a substandard squad and cannot be blamed for how it's set out due to us not having the right players he needs, including no subs to bring on in games that can alter it, even though he picks a bench out of the squad he has and could easily pick attacking option from the squad he has.

We are relegation fodder, apparently but 10 winnable games were on the immediate menu. I just don't get the mentality of fans.
Is it 10 winnable games if Rafa sets us up correctly?
    I'd say so...but I'd go further.
I'd say we have 29 winnable games if Rafa sets the squad up correctly and builds the confidence up, plus coaches the offensive into them as much as he coaches the defensive into them.

What's he doing with their fitness?
Apparently we seem to run out of steam. How and why?

Just read that myself. Certainly is a good article. Found this bit hard to read like. Drink this in for a second if you will: this will be the fourth straight Premier League season where Newcastle have fought relegation. This could be their third demotion in ten years. They only had four in the 100 plus years before Ashley took over.
