Thread: O/T do we still have a firm?

O/T do we still have a firm?

No ***** jokes please. By 'firm', I mean a group of gentlemen willing to engage in acts of violence with other like minded gentlemen from other towns and cities on matchdays. I know it's a bit taboo on here but we've all been young and I have read posts on here in the past, romanticising about the glory days of the 70s and 80s, from people who you'd think butter wouldn't melt in their mouths now.
I'm not advocating it, I'm genuinely curious to know. Because every club that comes to Rotherham seems to have said group of lads.
Not so long ago we had two 'firms' - Section 5 and the much ridiculed but very active RYS (Rotherham Youth Squad) which eventually merged to form one large group.
I know one or two older lads who aren't into it anymore and I know we have a lot of supporters serving long term bans, I don't hear of any activity anymore apart from a few grandads fighting at donny last season.
    Anyone know owt?

It did keep the corporate money out of football to be fair so it wasn't all bad.

    Pretty pointless now though.

Even the Hatton Garden robbers had one last job in them CA .

I propose myself and exile take the finest on here on for a meet and one last off before we hang our Fila tracksuits up for good .

Perhaps it would be a good idea to have a defibrillator at hand just to be on the safe side .

    :-) :-)

Slightly off subject, had the misfortune to walk past the station as the three last lot of away fans were escorted to the ground. Derby, Stoke and Bolton. Same numbers, same songs, sameclothes. I'm sure hey were also the same people.

I'll be honest i've never understood it, never wanted to fight with any other football fans, don't get it, having said that, going away in the 80's was always interesting if you wanted it or not, sad times...

Mr Gleeson's mob were the first, I believe. His Gorillas were fit, fast and as hard as nails.
    Sorry, snails.

I don't know about RUFC but the impression I get is that it's a friendly club with a loyal and passionate away support with no problems .

My club have a large number of fruit cakes who just bring total embarrassment to the rest of us , especially away from home .

Steward assaulted yesterday at Charlton who ended up needing hospital treatment after a beating by 4 lads who are associated with us , this happened at Coventry a week or two back .

Peterborough refused to give us more tickets the other week when we sold out our allocation of 1800 fairly quickly because they see us as a big risk and the police bill was something they didn't want to pay , can't blame em .

The home games are totally fine but away from home it's a different story and many decent fans have stopped travelling due to these idiots .

Nope we have some knuckle draggers away from home Animal.
Not one of them that I see could slap there own arse but put them in a group of likeminded morons and they’re game.
Will probably not be many at Middlesbrough but when we play Saturdays away with not much travelling they will be around tanked up.

Can’t call them a firm though more like a chavs outing who are only big in numbers.

It’s a reason why some have stopped going to away games.
