Fair enough report. That second 'gifted' goal was certainly a killer because, although City were undoubtedly in control, a one goal lead is never secure, however, that second really upset our equilibrium and led to our conceding the third. C'est la vie!

    .

with an understated, but knowing insouciance.

.....that made me reach for the dictionary !

Five-nil defeats are never anything but a weekend-ruining exercise in humiliation, but in mitigation it must be noted that there are few teams in the Premier League who would have avoided a similar fate when faced with Manchester City in that sort of form

I think - as we move through the season...it won't be more than a few that suffer that kind of drubbing...but if they do, they might well manage a goal or two themselves...but luckily for us, could have been worse - as that wasn't an on fire Man City....from what I saw of the game - they were down a gear, perhaps more...and even then, we made it much too easy for them - So for me, it's about the speed and that defensive mentality we have, it's so stationary and sluggish, the reactions are well behind - so makes for really heavy football...And to not even get a shot/header or anything of note on goal thoughout the whole game - well that's special....like La-La Land special.

    Cheers Dave.

So we didn't get a shot on target against City.
Well, you know this fantastic Fulham team which cost millions, they didn't manage a shot on target against Everton a few weeks ago and only managed 1 more shot in the whole game than we did against City. Not to wory though because they had 49% possession so they must have passed it around the back four quite a lot.

thanks Sub - but I didn't see the Everton match....though I think Fulham did hit the woodwork - but hey....what do we care.
