Always thought he was too honest a man to be involved with the worst owner we have ever had when he was here for a short time.

I often wander how Mort would of dealt with the situations that arose.

He's too shrewd and astute for Ashley who would have looked upon him as dangerous.

Ashley wouldn't have got away with so much sh1te had Mort still been here.

I agree, which makes me think Mort would of been gone regardless.

Ashley wants a yes many and Derrick is the perfect one for him - wasnt he effectively the tea man when Ashley took over

Mort leaving was the beginning of the slippery slope as far as relations between us and Ashley went.

Mort is probably way too diplomatic to work under the constraints of the last 10 yrs.

But that isn't why he left.

He only took the job on a temporary basis to begin with. PR wise he was great and Ashley was seen as a saviour while Mort was advising / assisting him.

But now way would he have hung around d and seen himself become part of the pantomime that followed.

Let's all look at the whole picture with all these high end money men. They don't accumulate it by spending their life's existence being straight upfront and nice, whether it's Mort or Ashley or Richard Branson, etc.
