why throw a young un in under ash
the reserves play attacking footy rafa plays a huge man up front
rafa showed his colours and football know how when he let gayle go on loan and though jos was a better choice than mitro

you would ruin the lad in a rafa side

I agree it would ruin the kid putting him in now.

But, not for any of the reasons stated above

Don't think it would ruin him at all, quite the opposite in fact. He would still be playing mainly for the reserves, but also get a taste of the big time and will want more, thus fight even harder to improve every day. It has to be done with care and consideration of course, but introducing him to the first team slowly from now on would do him a world of good. In my opinion.

We didn't even ease Armstrong in and he was way ahead of where this kid currently sits.

Unfortunately the best kids went on loan.
Sterry, woodman and Longstaff were kept as squad cover.

I hope the kid makes it, but I won't hold my breath.

I'm not saying he will make it for sure. I wouldn't have said that about Armstrong either, but the fact still is that he wasn't given a proper chance to prove himself. Let's not make that mistake again.

I have to agree with that. We cannot continue losing them when what we buy in is no better.

You must also consider what you pay to bring in dross but still have them on similar wages too, It's a waste of money at both ends.

It doesn't say that because they have a fancy foreign name that they are better than a local Joe Bloggs with a big heart and a lifelong love for the club.

This is why there must be more emphasis on local scouting development and training.

It is criminal thinking of the number of big names who have been discovered from this area in my life time and never been brought to this club first before making it elsewhere.

Aye - in an ideal world Sørensen wouldn't be moved up because our strikers are lengths and lengths ahead of him. But no.
