    Millers and the Great War

With the centenary coming up was wondering if anyone who survived the 1st world war went on to play for the Millers.
If anyone did would be good to honour them in a couple of weeks.

Probably but it was so long ago it may be hard to find out.

There are no Rotherham County or Town players on this list of footballers killed in the war.

Wilf Bartrop who played for us in the cup winning team of 1912 was killed 4 days before the conflict ended .

Just brings it home the loss of life during that war , very sad indeed .

Yes he's the most famous but there are some other Barnsley players on there as well.

There was something about a former player being killed in the Advertiser this week. Can't remember if he was Town or County.
