Yes,still 17th but only a few points separating several teams in the middle of the table and we've still got that game in hand.

Another positive to take from what has transpired up until now, is that the defence (apart from the Colchester debacle) is that our defence is bettered by just two other teams (MK Dons & Mansfield). Important that we beat Mansfield on Tuesday, to lift us into a respectable looking position in the table. Hope they don't mess this one up, as is so often the case after a good result. So far, Gresty Road has been a fortress, with just one league defeat.

Can we agree not to use the word 'fortress' as it inevitably leads to an anti-climax.
Apart from that, we're in one of those situations where, if we win, we can climb 6 places up the table as there's nobody else playing on Tuesday and this is our game in hand. We all know the history - we never deliver in these situations and then we have a few dreadful games where we lose track again. Fingers crossed that this time will be different! Let's get behind the lads from the beginning on Tuesday night.

Well, it has to be a "fortress", if we are to be serious about any realistic hope of finishing in the top seven. However, our away form has to improve for this to happen. In 1967-68, promotion was achieved remaining unbeaten on our home soil and included a healthy smattering of away successes too. That in the day, when a top four finish was the only way to escape from the bottom division. I am really hoping that we don't do what we have done all too often in recent years on Tuesday. That being, build everyone's hopes up (after this sequence of good results) and come away empty handed. Our attacking prowess will be tested to the maximum, as Mansfield have one of the best defences in this league.

It was a night when the midfield and 2 centre-hallves were negatively influencing. Odd that the OS ran an article about George being so consistent a day after he looked half-asleep through the game
