Football Leaks claims Euro Super League talks held by clubs

Article on BBC - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/46078651 - and in most of the papers.

Basically it's the "top" clubs - Real Madrid AC Milan, Arsenal, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Juventus and Manchester United all discussing a new Euro Super League behind UEFA's back. Leaks claim they'd withdraw from their Football Associations etc.

"The so-called founders, who would include the seven clubs named above along with Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and Paris St-Germain, would not face relegation and would be guaranteed membership for 20 years." They'd also have guest teams etc.

Whether this happens or not, i think we're getting closer to a Euro Super League and getting to the point where it won't matter what UEFA etc. say as the clubs will be to financially powerful.

If when it does happen, i can imagine it ripping the money out of CL and Prem, which could have some knock on effects for the clubs that rely on the TV money.

I doubt the fans will be happy with all that extra traveling and cost.
If these club do join a super league they should not be allowed to rejoin premier league when it all goes tits up. They should start from the Comference league.

Bayern München were very quick yesterday denying reports that they would be interested in a new super league.

Whether this has an truth or not, i strongly suspect it's being talked about at the high levels.

It' will be just like the Champions league if it does happen and how many away fans will be able to afford that every other week.

Perhaps its the logical step - these clubs are so far ahead already. Let them go off and do their thing and let the rest of the clubs try to get back to some proper football.

To be honest, I think they'd end up missing us more than we'd miss them.

That’s what I suspect and hope for.

The bubble will only burst when there is a reduction in demand to watch certain teams. This super league will accelerate the substitution of die hard supporters by theater goers. The latter may be less demanding on clubs but are also much more likely to lose interest in their team.

To be honest they will have thought about this and I wouldn't be surprised if they had something in place for fans to spend similar to what they do now. The clubs are that rich they can easily afford to sort cheap transport and flights for fans.
