Going back to England when he resigned. He was ripped apart for playing Southgate as a midfielder. I think he was ahead of his time. 3-5-2 essentially in attack.

He played this formation a lot with us. Common place today with attacking fullbacks the vogue now. This was 20 years ago ffs.

The mans a born winner. Has an aura and I wish to f Ashley had of believed in him like we do. I still think he could offer something even yet - he kept getting written off and I love these kind of people.
