Bloody hell Sinkov, are you seriously quoting the Lancaster House speech? Do you really think that Brexit will look like that??

If so, you must be deluded and you will be disappointed.

Sorry for my tardy response, I have been hauling myself up two more Wainwright hills today - up to 85 now. Everest base camp will be a doddle next year.

Regarding the issue about what the Government Immigration Minister Caroline Nokes told Parliament recently, when she indicated that "current UK based EU citizens would be subject to the same immigration checks as new arrivals"....she has been forced to "clarify" the issue after opposition from the Lib Dems and others. But she failed miserably. Yvette Cooper(Labour) who chairs the home affairs select committee, says that she is "non the wiser" after her explanation.
So, instead of criticising the Lib Dems perhaps you should compliment them on doing their job - holding the Government to account.

At the end of the day, it will be the Government who decide who can come in to or stay in the UK, but confusion reigns. So if I were you, I would hold off telling your friends and relations in France what the definitive position is.

Good evening 59/60, only two Wainwrights today, are you getting lazy ? Where did you get to, and did you get wet ?

What is hard to understand about,

"I have told other EU leaders that we could give people the certainty they want straight away, and reach such a deal now."

May originally made this offer over two years ago, she repeated it in the Lancaster House speech. She made the offer so that ordinary citizens, both UK and EU would not be in limbo. Would you like to explain what the EU response was to this offer to settle the issue, even before any talks/negotiations had started ?

And as the LibDims are so concerned about the status of EU citizens in this country, could you explain just what pressure, if any, they are putting on the EU regarding safeguarding the rights of UK citizens in the EU after Brexit ? Could you even explain, as you're an EU man, just what the actual situation is regarding UK citizens in the EU after Brexit ? As you're making such a song and dance about our government, I presume you must be quite content with their proposals, so perhaps you could tell us what they are ?

It's Alfie putting you in Scotland 59/60, geography clearly not the old gimmer's strongpoint. I had about 20 Wainwrights to go when we moved to France and I've never bothered since we came back. The Munros were a bridge too far for me as well. Where did you get to yesterday ?

We weren't sure whether or not he would have to cross a hard border to play for his country -----actually, we are still not sure.

The more you think about it Supersub6, the more ridiculous it becomes! We live in a globalized world for God's sake.
