    That's true as well of course, that walk I mentioned before, Hallin Fell and walking back on the path round Ullswater, you don't really need a map or guide book, you'd have to be a right numpty to come to any harm doing that walk.

    They are around, sinkov, nothing ever surprises me when I read about some of the situations which our rescue services are involved in.

    Bloody hell sinkov Hallin Fell is only a hill, I doubt if it's much more than a 1000 foot up?

    I know BT. There are some serious mountains in the Lakes, and some afternoon strolls, Hallin Fell is in the latter category, which is made perfectly clear if you'd read the thread.
