    January transfer window.

Every man and his dog are aware that we are having trouble scoring from open play. After last seasons goal fest our players are finding that Premiership defenders are a little bit better than many of the those in the Championship.

We will be linked with all and sundry over the next two months. The latest name to be linked with the club is Kasimpasa striker Mbaye Diagne, a Senegal International. The player has scored 11 goals from eleven starts in the Turkish league this season.

There is the problem though really. I don't think that there is any around, realistically, that is suddenly going to improve our goals per game tally. This guy looks, on paper, no better than what we have got or what we have sold away, Afobe for instance.

Afobe is struggling to score at Stoke because of the poor service he is getting. He scored goals for us because we had the players with the vision to play him in. Whether he could do it in the Premiership is another question.

I rate Afobe, but it is questionable whether he is good enough for this division. Also, he lets himself down with his comments on social media not sure I'd want him back, we seem to have a tight knit squad and don't need any disruptive influences.
