Surely DM must now realise what all the fans have been saying for quite a while, that a back three and playing it out from the back just doesn't work. We looked a much more solid unit with a back four and must stick with the same personel i.e. no Bartley. In fact I wouldn't even have him in the squad. Chris Brunt is a different matter. No, he is not a central mid-field player but I would always have him on the bench for his versatility. He can play many different roles when necessary. Today's performance was excellent and if we can continue in this vein we will not be far away come the end of the season.

Like so many I was very disappointed when I saw Robson-Kanu starting ahead of Gayle. Shame on me. He had an outstanding game, looked like a different player and firmly put me in my place. The defenders looked comfortable doing just that and not attempting to be something they are not. In fact everybody looked comfortable and happy playing in that system. Both difficult and unfair to pick out a MOM. It is hard to credit how they have seemed to struggle recently. It was a great all round team display and they must all be ecstatic. I just hope they stick with 433. Please don’t meddle with it.

It's Brunt I wouldn't have on the bench. Can't see how he can fit into the team ahead of anyone. Much prefer Barry, Burke, etc. Brunt does not work hard enough, lacks pace and is poor in the tackle.I don't want Bartley in the team either but there is less choice at the back. Maybe Mears at right back and the kid in the centre if needed would be better.
