Sir Bobby scored hatricks in the 8-0 romp of Mexico, 8-1 romp of USA, 8-1 romp of Switzerland amongst other routs where he scored once in the 10 nil win against USA on the eve of the 66 w/c. Ok far bigger nations than the ones you mentioned but at that time they were evidently as shyte as san Marino, Andorra etc
Although Charlton wore the No 9 shirt in most of his games, he was never a striker he was a midfielder or when he first played for England he played on the wing a certain Tommy Taylor owned the No9 shirt who scored something like 18 goals in 20 starts nar he was world class.

Aye Tommy definitely has a fantastic goalscoring record at international level , no doubt about that colliers , tragic isn't it when you think how good those Busby Babes were at that time .

I reckon Duncan Edwards would have gone on to be the very best England player of all time from what I've read about the lad , he would have just come in to his prime around 1966 I reckon .

It's such a shame there's very little on film to look back on during that era .

    16 in 19 for England

    26 in 44 fot Tarn

112 in 166 for Man Utd

Amazing goalscoring record. What an absolute tragedy he and so many others great young laikers were so cruelly taken

Unbelievable record pass , under enormous pressure from the football league to get back home and fulfill their fixture on the saturday against Wolves .

The football league were dead against them competing in the European Cup and Busby wasn't having it , he had vision and the football league thought it was just a maverick competition .

That plane should never have attempted to take off after the aborted attempts .

    Absolutely tragic and avoidable .

Maybe he should play for England against the USA as an advertisement for what you can achieve if you have the right work ethic .
Drawing the home team on FA Cup 2nd round draw
