How far back do we have to go...

How far back do we have to go where United strung a good run together and you could wake up to a really satisfying Sunday.

    Another beautiful Sunday!

Thought Statsman would have been all over this?

Think we need a run better than any run we have seen before. Still some bumps to come though!

We had decent run's at home during McKinnon's tenure, but away from Tannadice we were poor, our form home and away was night and day under Ray,mind we couldna even get a result at Dumbarton?.The last time i had confidence in the team home and away was under McNamara, that went tits up when Thompson sold the family silver and Jackie and the boys made thousand's on the back of it,FN shambles springs to mind.

It's been a long time since we were at our best, I think we have to go all the way back to the 6(six)-2 massacre of the Fun for this.

Not because it's accurate just because I wanted to

I remember the year we sneaked into the top 6 courtesy of a very late goal by the brother of the New Seekers singer v the Sheep and a late Harkins Fun goal stopping Killie's top 6 chance on the same day.
Well that season we went months & months with only a couple of HOME wins, god knows how we made top 6.
    Anyone remember?

Yeh, Rory Boulding was the man. We started off that season well, but Pedro Houston seemed to chuck it after his new contract negotiations went south after he rejected the Snake's 'New Terms' which you suspect was what was then given to JMac. Obviously it then culminated in the infamous Peter Houston resignation Press Conference in which he stated that 'He Feared For The Future Of Dundee United' having discussed the Chairman's 'Plans' with the Snake, presumably at great length. In said conference the Snake rejected such poppycock.

Wonder who was ultimately proved correct???????

We didn't lose many home games in that time to be fair and imo would ultimately have gone onto finish top six under Houston anyway, we always had a strong run in spring time under him

If you mention the strong run in spring, was this after a post Christmas down turn? Really surprised it has gone on for so long, and think its one of the reasons i am feeling a bit apprehensive about our chances this season!
