Haven't seen the incident yet but given McHugh's naievity and the fact that Thomson is the referee then a needless/soft red card was always on the cards.
3-1, McHugh off and Robinson in stand (awaiting the book being thrown at him given his previous, no doubt)...could get messy.

No, we can wait on potential condemnation till later but McHugh gets booked a lot for little gain and his first being for a foul around the halfway line does not suggest he'll get much defence there.
5-1 btw and still time...
Actually in fairness to him the second booking was ridiculous.
Six now...10 men or not this counts as a nightmare.
Need a day or two to blow off steam and then hopefully bounce back after the break.
Full time 7-1.
I'm not interested in any excuses about being down to ten men, though McHugh was extremely naieve and I'm not interested in the self assuring garbage about how there's no shame in the result because they have a bigger budget bla, bla, bla....that was a pathetic capitulation and reminiscent of the end of McGhee's tenure two seasons ago. I've always given Robinson the credit that his Motherwell team have always battled well and been combative and results like today rarely happened under him...but from what I saw of our second half today that was a team who had chucked in the towel and that is completely and utterly unacceptable.
We were lucky it was only seven, utterly pathetic.
I said at the end of last season our style of play will get us nowhere. We are far to predictable. We also didn't strengthen our squad properly and now pinning our hopes on a 19 year old pulling his out a very deep s*** filled hole. One of two things will happen, we go on a run like Stj did after being stuffed by Celtic, or we collapse completely. I would opt for the latter. If that is the case, Robinson will be gone around the Christmas period.
Considering that three of our next four fixtures are against Aberdeen, Celtic and Hearts with the other being a trip to Livingston then it's safe to say that we won't be going on any sort of positive run.
Aberdeen are not the side they were last season, Hearts are a different team with a few injuries and Livingston are not fundamentally better than us. Aye, ok, Celtic you're relying on them having a bad day but I'd be very disappointed if we lose all of the other three. One win would actually keep our breathing space even if we then lost the rest.
Today was horrific and I really hope Robinson tears a strip off them for it but ultimately it's just one game which we were always likely to lose anyway.
