Didn't Taylor use to do a decent throw in for us?
Edit - Ryan, not Steve
I don't think I've seen a game this season where there hasn't been at least one foul throw and quite often there've been several. Can someone with better footy knowledge than me (your average hat has more footy knowledge than me) explain why we need the rule about both feet on the ground or hands not extending beyond the sidelines.
As long as the ball is thrown with both hands and over the head, does the other stuff matter? Does the rule need changing?
Oh, and we have been shit at throw-ins as long as I can remember.
Didn't Taylor use to do a decent throw in for us?

I just don't understand how we lose possession 9/10 from throw ins
Didn't Watty used to do a somersault when he was taking a throw?
I think Zip, it's to stop the ball being thrown too far.
And yes, we are terrible at throw in situations.
I also cringe when we win a corner, as each one seems to lead to the opposition breaking forward and creating a chance.
And why oh why don't we man the posts?
Saturday's goal by Bournemouth would have been prevented.
True about manning the post. We did it season because I remember conceding a goal which squeezed under the bar when Yedlin was on the goal line.
The sommersalt throw in is fine so long as both feet are on the ground when it leaves the playersī hands. I think there is another rule at throw-ins that the ball must start in the hands behind the players head so you canīt just throw it to a player near you from in front of your face, for example.
After slagging him off (deserevedly) in his last few sub appearances, where heīs been abysmal, I thought he did OK coming on on Saturday. It was a good effort on goal and he didnīt give the ball away stupidly. I hope this is the start of a well over due improvement in form.
Well Zip where I don't claim to have more football knowledge than your self but I can understand where every feature of the game must be governed by specific rules.
e.g. a corner kick taken within the segment. The kick off from the centre circle must travel at least the circumference of the ball and forwards and not backwards. e.g it could have been the diameter instead and possibly backwards, but it wasn't. So that's the rule.
The thing which annoys me most about throw-ins is when players are moving around and the taker gradually moving up the sideline gaining distance advantage. This ought to be penalised more by giving the opposition the throw-in instead.
When the throw in rules were devised they could have made it that one or two feet could be off the ground, but they didn't
