Percy, just seems odd the first thing you'd do after an interview would be to ring up a journalist and say you're not taking a job, just very odd.

Well he may have a connection in the club as he is from Nottingham

I don't believe we're going down, our huge squad will be strong enough when other teams wilt in the winter. So, I give you two names:

Gary Bowyer...if he wants to get back to work then he seems a stand out candidate. Then there's Neil Ardley, seems a safe pair of hands.

If neither of them is doable then 1 last name:

Alan Smith - till then end of the season. Respected in the dressing room (many believe he was a massive part of Nolans "success") and at the very least he would get a performance out of this bunch.

If you ain't going down, what do you have to lose?

But your previous username was an anagram of 'leaden pro'.
Are you Giles Brandreth in disguise?

Understand Michael Appleton met with #Notts County for talks this morning but will not be taking the job. Appleton remains keen to return to management after leaving Leicester over the summer.

Presumably AH found him to be 'bloody awful'. Or maybe the other way round.

Odds-watchers among you will have spotted Appleton leading the way again on Friday, with others sliding ...

Usual caveats - small markets, small money can influence etc - but intriguing given being "ruled out" in some reports.
