Unfortunately Alto the horse has bolted on this one. Scudamore will have his 5 million. But where do we go from here? I honestly have no idea how we can challenge the filthy rich ruling elite.

The only comeback from this could be if Scudamore takes this £5 Million fraudulent gift and donates it to grass roots Football, failing this he should be ashamed of himself.

I agree Alto - he bloody well won't though.

It would have been difficult, but Burnley could have said, "Given the challenges faced by a lot of people in our town, we think it more appropriate to give the £250K to needy local causes. We appreciate what Mr Scudamore has achieved during his tenure, but he has been very well rewarded financially already"

That would have sent out a powerful message to the powers that be and, more importantly, to the people of Burnley.

No doubt there would have been repercussions if we had done this, so we decided to take the line of least resistance.

Just to clarify, there was no vote on this at all.
It was decided by the audit and remuneration committee and the non-executive board that his sum be paid to Scudamore over a three year period. The money was taken from the Central Fund. which is the fund which distributes money to the clubs.
The clubs were not asked to vote, they were told that this was happening and the PL have been crafty because they have made it appear that this is so that Scudamore makes himself available as a consultant for the next three years if needed.
No club had any say at all as to where the money should go so it could not go to any needy cases in Burnley or anywhere else.
It stinks, however, this is what happens in an organisation which looks after its own interests before even thinking about anything else. This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone really because it has always been the case.

    Thanks for that super.

That's diabolical. What company would pay someone £5M because they "may" need his services?

    Pull the other one.
