Was badly needed. It was an unbelievable eyesore before.
It was badly needed for sure, but, for £30,000 ??
What happened to a good old bucket of suds and a scrubbing brush ???
“Preparing Dumfries for Christmas”
Following on from the recent success of Dumfries being awarded the “Large Town” and “Gold” award from Beautiful Scotland in 2018. We are extending an open invitation to schools, community groups, businesses and individuals to take part in a campaign – “preparing Dumfries for Christmas” which will run throughout the week 19th – 25th November.
You choose:
• What you want to clean up, this can be anything from litter picking around your school to washing down a bus shelter; removing stickers from lampposts or simply removing weeds and leaves, which can block the drains and gutters and lead to roadside flooding.
• Where you want to clean up – From Georgetown to the Greensands; Bankend to Dock Park, wherever you are, we urge you to get involved.
• When and how long you want to dedicate, it can be anything from 5min to 5 hours.
Are you interested in joining with us to brighten our community up? Then don’t’ hesitate to get in touch with either Chris Woodness or myself to register your group and your clean-up project, our contact details are listed below.
We are also asking if you could share before, during and after photos of the clean up on The People’s Project Facebook Page
Let us all work together to brighten up Dumfries, Our “Queen of the South”. #It’sOurTown
