But they are obviously aren't that clever
As I said before lawyers eh?
    don't you agree?
Exile, my dear friend, I don’t know here you are going with this. It is getting a little surreal. What are you asking me?

I have no idea who drafted the Benn Act, but it didn’t prevent a no deal outcome as its authors and some of the media suggested. And there was no loophole - the Act required Johnson to send a letter. It didn’t change government policy and nor could it prevent Johnson articulating that policy as he did. How could it?

The blind faith that Remainers appear to have had in the Benn Act has had me perplexed ever since I first heard about it and I’m thick.

How can working class people identify with blairites who wouldn't know what a strike was let alone support it.
I think you have to be very careful how you play that in this day and age , the tube workers issues aren't the commuters problems who simply want to get in to work , there's very little solidarity today never mind solidarity shared with people outside of your issues .

You'd have to have a very good cause for people to be sympathetic in this day and age .

Stripping away holidays and other further cuts to workers rights would be a reasonable reason to take action , taking action because the service wants to operate 24 hours a day wouldn't find much sympathy I'm afraid with the public .

    Difficult one .

And if he does what will be the penalty..and if there aint a penalty should he be in contempt what is to stop him keeping doing it?

Not exactly exile , personally the ticket I think Labour need to stand on is making capitalism fairer rather than opposing it as Corbyn seems to do although I've always agreed with his sentiment .

However as times gone on since he became Labour leader it seems his stance won't win over enough of the electorate to form a majority government .

If a decade of austerity doesn't work for you then clearly it won't ever work at the ballot box .

I'm not suggesting I'm exactly thrilled about a New Labour model but it's definitely more palatable than the ERG in government , unregulated capitalism and the free market .

Working with capitalism to challenge it rather than against it would probably bear more fruit at the ballot box in my opinion .

Throwing benefits at the old heavy industry areas wouldn't be on my list either , New Labour part two must also learn from their mistakes of the past too .

It was far from a perfect model but if done right with some brains at leadership level you get the credibility you need to win over the votes you need .

Or pretend to be on the side of the working class like the Unions do but support the neoliberal EU and cheap foreign labour and the resulting depression of wages and less job security.

Exposure to a few Socialist policies? What are you suggesting? That I emigrate to Venezuela? Will you send me food parcels if I do? We are mates and you wouldn't want me to waste away.

It had to happen - someone with more money than sense litigating on whether the letter should be signed...

As I have said, I am of the opinion that Johnson fully complied with the law. It's not his fault that it was a piss poor law.

If I'm wrong then I'm sure that I will be in esteemed company and that Johnson will be able to demonstrate that he was acting in good faith on the basis of comprehensive legal advice.
