    Perez

Wanted by Real Betis in January, apparently. It's Talkshite so could easily br bollocks if their website is as full of shit as every programme they put out.

If true, would you sell him (assuming fatso would allow Rafa to replace him)?
    .
It'd be a 'yes' from me. I accept the 'what do you expect for £2 million' argument but he's never developed in line with the promise he initially showed. I think he'd do better in a more technical, less physical league.

He's knocked off the ball far too easily and his shooting is shite. Aye, he works hard and would benefit from playing closer to another striker so his flicks and lay-offs have more chance of coming off.

I wouldn't be too sad if he took his stupid fingers in ears gesture somewhere else

    Thoughts?

Exactly that. I thought a few seasons ago that he would develop into a really skillfull all round player, provided he built up a bit of strength, tenacity and solidness but alas he seems to have gone sideways. The odd flash of brilliance but mostly mediocre.

If Rafa is allowed to invest the money into a player he wants then i agree with the selling aspect.

If as i think he wouldn't be then for now I wouldn't sell in Jan.

Was there a price linked with him? Or just the link to Madrid?

In the summer '19 he will have been here for five years. I think it's time to move him on then. As I know the money won't be reinvested, I'd be worried to see him go in January though.

He’s far too lightweight for a No 10 move him on he’s had enough chances.

The lad can be hit and miss but if he's played as part of a confident outfit in a much better balanced set up akin to the Bournemouth game, he will be an asset again.

Perez is always going to look below average in a cautious set up, in terms of what we - as fans - expect from him on the front foot.
I've said time and again that a lot of our players are capable of much more if played to their strengths.

Perez is a hero to zero player in short order, just as Diame is and many other players that get singled out as and when the situation begs for it.

Sometimes we expect more from an individual without appreciating the set up that they're asked to play in.

Look at Kenedy, now... and Ritchie.
Kenedy looked below par and uninterested when the set up was negative. Look at him in the last few games...especially Bournemouth.

I could get right onboard with Benitez when he has a go like this and uses players for their overall strengths.
This massively includes Perez, assuming he hasn't had his confidence rattled enough to scupper him.

Perez is the worst player in our side.

He's weak, can't shoot, can't head, can't tackle. He never gets injured mind you, but that's because he never makes a challenge.

In all of my days of playing and watching football, I have never seen a player put his hands up in front of him, palms out, when an opposition player came near.

A number 10 is supposed to be a Freddy Flintoff, an all rounder, good in the air, a good passer, scores goals, strong, skilful,
durable, energetic, all whilst supporting the lone striker.

Perez is not a number 10.
