Probably tell you better by the end of January, but right at this moment, I'd say our board would not lose a moment's sleep should we be relegated.
There is an eerie strangeness at our football club at present.
Do we really want to stay up?

Sad/tragic really sinkov.
Indeed BT, I sometimes wonder if, because Sean took them back up once, they think it'll be no problem for him to do it again. Could be a very big and costly mistake if that's their thinking.
I'd totally agree with all the above posts so far, its a really sad state of affairs what's happening
.
there's pressure to spend - then it'll be -pressure to spend some more - but if the cheapo deals are done for - and they aren't willing to up the money....then we'll just continue on a wing and a prayer - so if that works and somehow we stay up....then bonus - they'll break out the champagne and thank their lucky stars....so to answer the question (Do we really want to stay up..?) - well "as it is"....I'd guess they'd prefer to, only for the extra Dosh....but if we don't, then it's so what - they got themselves a healthy payout and banked it... then if we bounce back - they'll get themselves some more... .
You are REALLY asking if we want to get relegated?
Nurse, the screens!
They have finally lost it
I think, 1959, the underlying question is "what's the will of the Board to stay up"?
And the associated supplementary question is "How much are they prepared to throw at it to stay up"?
By all the deeds done so far--between very little and sweet FA.
You can then extrapolate the following:-
When we go down, what's the point of trying to get back to the Prem. We know the cost of staying up is more than we are prepared to fund, despite the riches we would gain.
How much would we be prepared to spend to get back to the Prem?
If anything, why didn't we spend it whilst there?
How many transfer windows will continue to be shut on us before we understand that we are hopelessly short of the real will to compete at the highest level.
There is one major disadvantage to going down as far as the Board is concerned; and that is the continuation of high wages (by Burnley standards) for players currently under contract.
Despite Para payments its still a shock to the Bank balance.
Maybe there is hope that our Development squad, etall, will do the business; that they just need more time to develop. In other words take the hit now for future promise. And we don't need to spend more on players because we have developed the playing resources.
Good luck with that one.
