    Gareth Thomas Attack

Like so many, attacks on any individual is shocking and the Gareth Thomas attack was no exception. The fact the French Rugby Team will all wear rainbow laces for support in their match on Saturday because Gareth " came out " does sum up this world - sad and pathetic!

So when an elderly person who can't defend themselves and is beaten senseless by some thugs ( far worse than above ) should we do the same as above - how about white laces for white hair!

Nobody has a problem if someone is gay but all this media attention like what's happening with Gareth Thomas and Brighton Pride is pathetic. Despite Gareth sticking it where he wants - was he not big enough to defend himself? Should Enid a ninety year old defend herself in a similar situation as Gareth ?

Soon we should have proud to be straight marches and lobby for every attack on a person who can't defend themselves to be met with the appropriate colour of lace!

No wonder we can't sort out Brexit!!! We really have lost it!!

There's a stark difference in those two scenarios in that one is a homophobic attack and the other isn't because of race or ***uality or minorities etc. The rainbow laces are more of a statement that professional sport is inclusive and for everyone. Like you I don't really see the point of Pride marches as I feel that society has moved on from the days of violence and discrimination towards homo***uals.

In my view - there is a difference. Battering an old lady who can't defend herself is far worse than a young lad trying to have a go at a strong 6 foot rugby player who could easily defend himself. Any violence is sickening but how this Gareth Thomas incident gets on the news makes you sick. Nobody cares if someone comes out!!! I would cheer a gay centre forward for us like any player if he was good on the pitch. What I would not support is the fact that someone is coming out gets rammed down your throats and the pathetic rainbow laces. In fact, if our players wear rainbow laces, I would miss the match in protest.

On another note - lets hope we don't play like pansies on Friday
