You are thinking on right lines with mad dog remember it is a young canine and it is someone who posts.
It gets more tricky when anagrams are used which I haven't so far in the examples I have given.
A good idea is to look at the answers to cryptic crosswords in general and work it back to the clues to see how the answer is arrived at.

Not at all Pocket. Its like owt else you would get it with practise. Its just playing about with words really. Most of us on here know sod all about psychology.Although i have been reading up a bit on Warneys emotional intelligence which i aint too good at.
