Is it a master stroke or....

luck that has bought about Matt Phillips putting in the sort of performances in midfield we have been crying out for. Many of us have moaned about the three at the back not working as the players we have are not good enough. But the other big failing a lot of fans felt was we did not have a quick dynamic midfielder who could get some tackles in but more importantly when he had the ball was able to drive forward with pace and take one or even two players out of the game when we attacked. I would like to think that BD and GJ saw the possibilites in Phillips and slipped him in there, rather than a case of give him a go and keep your fingers crossed.

I read an article earlier today (Mail) in which Darren Moore was talking about this very subject. He clearly is pleased with the way Phillips is playing in his midfield role and he said, nor quite getting his metaphors right, that he has taken to it ‘...like water off a duck’s back’.
