Thread: Ayr United leaders

  1. #11
The Alloa game was all a bit flat, won't be the case Friday night.
In fairness apart from the two set piece goals and a one on one they didn't create anything else and we completely ran the general play.
Looking forward to the Ayr game.

we do rely on Fyvie more than is healthy for someone who could break down again and must be protected. Thats one of my main concerns in a long season and especially xmas period

Strangely not too fussed if we do loose or draw on Friday. Suppose its because we are in a better position and i expect we will have a few blips along the way. Still plenty time for them all to take points off each other and loose points elsewhere.

Don’t agree Chick, this is a game where a marker gets laid. A win and nothing else should suffice imo

Agree this is a must win, not only to continue the momentum and upsurge In our fortunes , bt also to gain a clear physiological advantage on all those around us. Especially as I think Ayr have Inverness no county nxt.

In other seasons in championship the matches v Hibs and v St Mirren / Livi were season defining.

Feeling this will be season defining. Hopefully an emphatic win

We won big games at home this time of the year previous two seasons (beat hibs 1-0 2016 and st mirren 2-0 2017) while on good runs that ended up with us top at Christmas

Think it's more important we don't lift them by giving them a huge boost with a first win at Tannadice in forty odd years

Those wins against Hibs and Saints set the tone for that part of the season.

Top at Xmas ahead of Hibs.

Joint top and a little purple patch under csaba after St Mirren home win under Laurie

The losses to Hibs and Saints away were really dispiriting and caused us problems over the season. The missed pen v saints and losing was a big moment last season

Whatever result on Friday it is important

Come on United. Atmosphere building up nicely.

Hopefully by the end of 90 minutes this thread should be better called Dundee United leaders 😂
