    Today's Daily Mail .........

Dundee United are close to being taken over by American owners and the deal could be finalised in the coming week. (Daily Mail,).

Can't believe much of what you read in the papers, but thats in today's rag.

Yeah it's in the DFC Tamson local rags as well, not being reported as a full takeover, just purchasing of all or some of Martins shares, so Jimmy will still be there

Will believe it when I see it though

Crazy to say it given our recent past but the status quo at the moment is obviously not too bad.

Hope that any investors are in it for the long term and have the interests of our great club at heart

The status quo allowed Shabba to stay on when it was blatantly obvious he had to go in April when he took us from top to scrambling for fourth!.To make matters worse they then allowed him the summer window to bring in players on long term deal's.Neilson bar last night has worked miracles with none of his players.
Make no mistake about it Martin's refusal to dispense with Shabba was a decision on a par with any that the previous chairman made and that took some doing. To be fair though the chairman finally wielded the axe and has brought in a good manager however the problem facing the club now is some of the players who are not good enough to play Championship level football are contracted to the club for a longer period than the manager.

I have to agree with every single word here. Martin put his chips on a dud. It is going to be costly paying of the Currans, bartons etc

Aslong as the new owners have no future intent on mergers or even groundshares then I'm open minded in their intentions

However any plans to merge and or leave Tannadice they can get right to phuck

Tannadice is a great wee stadium, one of the best for atmosphere when it’s full
No need to move anywhere else
Would like to see the corner between the dode fox and shed filled in to make it more enclosed but that’s about it

If merger is going ahead. Americans need to outline their intentions from get go! Instead of any amount of second guessing that will no doubt follow.

Personally I’m a wee bit suspicious about the whole thing. I jst can’t see why they wld be interested in our club apart from the retail and commercial benefits of either a ground share at campy and all the add ons through the commercial aspect or a merger. I really hope I am wrong.
