I have just watched German politician Alice Weidel leader of the AfD party give a speech in their parliament about brexit.
She spoke a lot of sense and the speech with sub titles can be found on you tube.
I don't like her far right party but it is well worth a look.

In the spirit of negotiation and compromise that currently prevails, I've edited Sidders' post to reflect the issues on which we can broadly agree. Perhaps we can issue this as a joint communiqué.

I disagree with most of Dennis Skinner's Socialist views, but I agree with pretty much everything he says in this interview.

As he says, he's been around long enough to understand a lot more about the Common Market and latterly the EU than some of the younger generations who have grown up really knowing no alternative. It is indeed an undemocratic institution.

Funnily enough, it works the other way round for me. I agree with most of Dennis's socialist principles but I think he's way out of touch with the EU being less democratic than the set-up operating in Westminster.

Recent events show that Westminster has caught up with the EU in terms being undemocratic. It just goes to prove that if you hang around with the wrong crowd for too long, you pick up all their bad habits.

    Is he gammon then?

″...older men who, despite having all the opportunities that baby boomers enjoyed, are confused and angry at the modern world. It’s a condition that once manifested itself as an affinity to UKIP, but now more so to high blood pressure and a red meat complexion.

I don't see why it matters. We could be discussing the current situation but instead we're talking about whether Dennis Skinner is gammon. Jesus Christ.
