    Well it was certainly sung in a Marc Almond style but I've never listened to the lyrics that closely.
    Just like it as a tune with good melodies

    Yes, that one sounds very David Bowie/Marc Almond influenced. I remember reading an interview with Pete Shelley during the heyday of punk, when he was asked which bands he liked listening to. Rather surprisingly he said Can, and mentioned some other German electronic bands - so that was probably always ticking away in the background

    It was slightly more subtle than I remember

    But yes that was his "coming out" song.

    Though their lyrics weren't as explicitly political, as some of the other bands around in the late 70's, Pete Shelley did say. their songs weren't gender and ***uality specific. Plus they did play Rock Against Racism carnivals and gigs.
