As you say not a great performance but will take the three points in a hurry. Our defence fed the ball back to them so many times today it wasn't funny. Lucky to get away with it really.

Anyone listening or viewing the game today would have no idea how difficult the playing conditions were. It rained incessantly, it was freezing cold and there was an swirling wind that was causing all sorts of problems with the flight of the ball. All the spectators and players today, deserve medals for braving the elements.

Having said that it was a very enjoyable game, with both sides doing their best to play good football.. Both teams like to play out from the back, which in turn made for a fast tempo game. So often Wolves have only played the tempo game for one half, but today they were on their game.

Bournemouth were having plenty of possession but our defence was dealing with it well, choosing to nick the ball and break at speed. This tactic led to the excellent first goal with Jota breaking free before firing across the area for Jimenez to tap in. Our number nine is a very underrated player, his work rate is phenomenal, while his hold up play and close control is excellent. We must sign him asap, regardless of cost.

Mogan Gibbs White was the meat in a very heavy sandwich which resulted in the visitors defender, Mings, having to be substituted. While shortly before half time Jota went down under a heavy challenge and was forced to abandon the game. Costa came on as a replacement for the second half and soon had a one on one before blasting over, when Jimenez in the area would have been a better option. Bournemouth were having a lot of possession and Wolves were finding it difficult to clear their lines. A free kick hit the bar before we managed to get a foothold in the game and start playing some neat football..Saiss entered the fray at the expense of Morgan and soon showed his strength in the middle of the park, Neves and Moutinio were now controlling midfield and our attacks were becoming more frequent. Cavelero came on for Jimanez who looked shattered and like earlier in the season scored with almost his first touch, showed great composure to seal the win.

The mith of our foreign players being crap in the winter was given a true test today and they came though with flying colours. With 38 points now appearing to be the safety mark, four more wins and a draw, should see us safe. The stats will show that like Chelsea and Newcastle, Bournemouth had more possession but nine points show a different story. Bring on Liverpool later next week..

Your right Abbo the weather was a big factor, we changed formation to two up top with MGW in the ten role, and seem to be defending deeper, hence the possession stats. It suits us to let sides camp in our half and break quickly when we pinch possession, playing this way we’ve started scoring more goals. Although we spent more time defending Bournemouth didnt get many shots on goal in open play, so all told an effective system.

bournemouth were never out of the game and will probably feel hard done by not to get a point.

Make no mistake about it, Bournemouth are a decent side, but every side makes mistakes, as was with the poor backpass that played in Jota to tee up Jiminez for the first. Bournemouth look pleasing on the eye, but i think they lost a bit once Mings went off. Bar the effort off the bar and the chance just after, they barely troubled Patricio. Even with Wilson coming on though they had no end product.

In games like the one yesterday, at 1-0, you always want a bit of breathing space and a second goal, there was no better time to score than as we did at Newcastle, in stoppage time. The weather conditions were the same for both sides and both coped well. I'm just glad that we can now look back at three wins on the bounce after the poor run of five defeats in six games. The table is also looking a lot better than it did a fortnight ago.
