How about this one from the late 60s:

    Jingle Bells
    Dougan smells
    McGarry's got no hair
    Peter Knowles is saving souls
    And Wagstaff is a spare

1/ Pogues - Fairytale of New York

2/ A spaceman came calling - Chris de Burgh

3/ Step into Xmas - Elton John

4/ Little drummer boy - Bing and Bowie

5/ Wizard - I wish it could be xmas every day

    6/ Stay now - East 17

I also love John Anderson and Vangelis’s “ I’ll find my way home” and ABBA’s “Suoer Trouper” as both of which were out at Xmas in the early 80’s when I had some tough Xmas experiences in the live stakes!

I should say so! Our local Sainsbury’s have this year adopted the policy of the continual playing of Christmas themed songs that I find very irritating at times. Just yesterday afternoon a song was playing and I thought then just how b!oody awful it was. It was horrible. As I walked on there was a little toddler holding his hands to his ears and clearly distressed. His mother comforted him saying ‘Never mind, that noise will be finished soon’.
