First of all let me say that I am not particularly against females wanting to encroach into the once mainly male territory of football commentating on tv and radio, I can even chuckle to myself in the local when England have a match on tv and the lass who lives next door is screaming for a foul at every tackle, spilling her pint of lager in the process, but what really irritates me is the " ladette" style of voice the female commentators adopt. It seems that because they have entered a male domain they feel the need to "fit in" so to speak. What Id like to hear is a Fenella Fielding, Johanna Lumley style commentary !!

She did have a fantastic voice as well
I don’t mind Alex Scott but I don’t like to listen to Kelly Cates
Don't hit me but women footballers do tend to be on the butch side so why not the women football commentators as well?
What does annoy is that even the best female footballers are only pub team level yet they're getting all the pundit gigs, although most of the male ones are crap too I admit.
But we are all living in PC world now where Sue Perkins has made £4 million being a "comedian".

.............. what do you expect with the BBC, nice work(and pay rises) if you can get it..........
....abolish licence fee, make them earn their money, you'll see a different direction then.
