o/t the strangest of managerial appointments

Talking to a Leeds fan yesterday - one appointment that forever will baffle me was the 70 day tenure of Dave Hockaday at Elland Road - didn't do well at Forest Green and then went to Swindon Supermarine as Head Coach later the year Leeds got rid - bizarre...

...any others you can think of?

    Leroy Rosenior - Torquay

Appointed Manager then Torquay was sold and LR was replaced ten minutes into the job.

Leroy didn't mind as he was on a guaranteed 3 year contract

Can't think of any as bizarre as the Hockaday /Leeds one.
I remember in the late 90's Brentford's chairman appointed himself as team manager. I can't remember his name, oldish fella, think he had something to do with snooker. We were in the same division as them at the time under Ronnie Moore.

Did Michael Knighton appoint himself as manager at Carlisle?

Isn’t he the guy that tried to buy Man Utd ?

Must have made a lot of money from Knight Rider.

Not a strange appointment but John Still who mainly alternated between managing Barnet and Dagenham has retired.

Beat us in 2010 at Wembley of course.
