    O/T Alloa Athletic

Again, a fine win for Alloa yesterday. What a contrast when you compare them to last year's other part time Championship side Brechin City. Brechin rolled over very tamely , going a whole season without a win but the Wasps are right up for the fight. It would be an achievement in itself for them to stay up but with a six point gap over bottom club Falkirk at the moment , I wouldn't write them off at all.

JR, the fact that Alloa are within catching distance of Queens should strike fear into everyone.

Partick will not be relegated, - as they will strengthen in the January window, and neither will Falkirk on average home crowds in excess of 4000, so a chasm is appearing and it is important that Queens don't fall into it. We must aim to strengthen and strengthen wisely to keep well ahead of Alloa and hopefully the rest of the chasing pack.

As you point out, - there is no guarantee that will happen, but one thing's for certain, sitting with a threadbare squad scraping draws every week is no use when the Wasps have just claimed back to back victories against ourselves and Dundee Utd.

If we're not careful we could sleep walk into a relegation quagmire.

Another good result from Alloa yesterday after coming back from 2-0 down to draw away at Dunfermline. That’s 5 games undefeated now.

Their fighting spirit without question. Falkirk also had an excellent result yesterday as you would have seen. I get a feeling that teams the size of the Bairns and Thistle will put a run together at some point . With Alloa competitive , we just need to keep adding points on the board to keep our noses in front of them. Lastly , who on earth would have thought Partick Thistle would be bottom in January ?
