Thread: Mason Holgate

If it makes it harder for Bartley to get in the team it has to be a good thing ?

Looks a decent loan signing, but there in lies the problem for us if we gain promotion back to the greed league, we are not building a team in readiness for the Premier League, is the Chinaman gonna put his hands in his pockets and give the club the funds for probably 6-8 players. We had 8 years in the Prem and became a side that could hold their own until being Pulised and Pardewed, all back to square one now.

We need a right back desperately. We do not have a right back at all but we currently have four centre halves. The last thing we need is another. God I'd rather drag Nyom back than play Dawson there again.

I see what you mean mate, but, I don’t think that would be a wise move. That is, if needed, I’d prefer Dawson there to Nyom, but, I’d of course prefer a proper RB.

Hear hear...apart from his poor performances, I take exception to his gesticulating and apportioning blame. Clearly impacting on team spirit.

Could be a great loan signing for us. Looking at the matches he has played in the PL he has played a lot at RB but he is young, athletic and looks to me a lot more like a right back. Also played at RB for England U21 in the European Championships. I for one hope this one comes off.

If we are getting loan players would rather we are getting players of his age rather than the type of players we got on loan or short term contracts last summer. Let’s have some younger, enthusiastic hungry players rather than players at the end of their careers.

I don't really understand why anybody should be against this move. Yes, Dawson and Hegazi are a perfectly sound centre back pairing but when one is missing, as on Saturday, we are struggling. Bartley is poor all round. Holgate would be a great asset as he is young, has premier league experience and can play in the centre or at full back. Our defence needs bolstering, so I'm all for it.

Sounds alright to me. Apparently he came through the ranks at Barnsley. It would be interesting to hear Acido’s views on him.

Yes, Holgate sounds like a good loan signing.
