We need decent wide players Will , Brady May never get back to where he was - JBG is over rated contributes when it suits him , Lennon crocked and out for some time .
The centre mid man is a must someone 6ft and strapping powerful lad who can make us competitive I think you may get more from Cork if he has the reigns released a bit he’s just on defensive duties all the time.
Technically he’s a very good footballer ( not blessed with pace ). But still better than a lot on here would believe.
If we are in fact linked with Matt Philips I wish we’d just go and get him, hope we’re not starting with all the knocking a million of backwards and forwards bull S—- were used to.
So him and another centrally someone in the Patrick Viera mould would do ( I know before you all say we’ll never get him etc etc - Leicester managed to get Kante for 6million and he’s best defensive midfielder in the world now.
The players are there, our lot will say we’d rather buy something with experience that we’ve seen hence why we never take chances on anyone really.
We need to get a better scouting policy in place and go and find some players that need a window of opportunity to show their talents we may just strike lucky who knows.
All the crap about they won’t come to little old Burnley is wasted on me they will if we are competitive money wise and give them the platform.

FFS, the Baggies don't want to sell Phillips, surely we're not going up that blind alley yet again.

I’m with you Sinkov just think if we want him go and ask , there’s always a price - pay it or move on.

I fully agree on the scouting policy... we can’t afford experieced PL players, that’s why I’m pointing to other counties. A young talented player in one of the other European leagues would love the chance of PL football if he thought the club interessted was willing to invest in him and the future of the club. De Bruyne had many clubs wanting to sign him, but he chose City because he felt they wanted him the most. If that was shown in the amout of money they gave him, I don’t know but I think how the club go about their buisness, not just how much they pay, will have an impact on how interessting it is to sign for that club. Then Little old Burnley is not a good tactic.

Is this the same Kevin de Bruyne who had been a professional for 7 years before he joined City for £54 million, having been Footballer of the Year in Germany when playing for Wolfsburg who had signed him in 2014 for £18 Million?
I suppose the fact that he would be signing for a club who had been champions twice, runners up twice, finished 3rd and 5th in the previous 6 seasons had nothing at all to do with his decision ---oh ---and the fee and wages that he could command ----I'll bet that his agent was dragging him kicking and screaming to sign on the dotted line!

I think he earned about £5 million in wages and fees from his short time at Chelsea too Supersub? Just the sort of prudential signings we should be making.

I always thought that, after a couple of seasons raking in the PL money, we would be able to blow any Championship club out of the water financially, if we wanted one of their players. It certainly happened to us when we were in the Championship, any PL club could choose to sign one of our better players, any window they wanted, and off they went, there was nothing we could do about it.

But for some reason it doesn't work for us, we've tried to sign players from Brighton and WBA recently, both of them Championship clubs at the time, and both have told us to feck off and laughed at us.

    Why is this ?
