    Reading v Swans

Somehow this strange site has deleted my unfinished match report, it has a will of its own and refreshes the page after a while, deleting everything. Anyway I’ll try again!
The Jack Army, almost two thousand strong, were out in force for this match on New Years Day.
Thirst was quenched pre-match in the expensive stadium bar as there was nothing around outside, the ground being sited in the middle of an industrial park.
Five changes again for this match and Bony not even in the squad, presumably on his way to Turkey?
Dyer, Fer, Roberts, Rodon and Naughton returned and we reverted to our usual 4-3-2-1 formation.
We were off to a flying start, McBurnie netting after only two minutes, heading in from Naughton’s cross
Two further goals by Roberts and Van der Hoorn made it 0-3 by half time and Reading were mesmerised.
A penalty within a few minutes of the restart, after Routledge was brought down by Yiadom, and McBurnie calmly slotted home for his brace, 0-4,
Reading woke up with half an hour to go as we sat back on our lead, they started passing the ball well, and sub Harriet duly netted from a free kick into the box on 77 mins to make it 1-4.
We saw out the rest of the match without conceding again and what a way to start the new year.
The remit for Potter now is to stop experimenting and put out his best team every league match.
To reinforce the squad this month and get rid of the remaining non productive high earners is a priority.
