    January Transfer Thread

OK chaps thought I'd start a thread for our lack of inbound transfers this January. A place where we can dream and discuss rumours and who might to a job for us.
I'll kick this off with two names. The second I thought I'd never say.
    Jermain Defoe
    Shane Long

Think we need to include outgoings as well. Can’t see anyone coming in unless others go out but may be wrong.

Hopefully Burke out but still wouldn’t be surprised to see Dawson pushing for the exit door which I think would really be bad news. Not sure how else we can reduce the wages bill to finance incomings but hopefully not by Harvey going back to Leicester! Mears our after the end of January extension?

This window should be an opportunity to strengthen for one big push but can’t see it myself.

Talk of Forest wanting Burke on loan, can't see us allowing him to go to another promotion hopeful.

This time of year and type of thread always used to see dear old Baggie from Stafford bring out his tumbleweed clip.

    Both are much missed.

It was a single tumbleweed 68......somehow more prophetic.

Weren't we also interested in Joe Lolley at one point? Wonder if there is a swap being mooted...

We've also been linked with James McCarthy and Victor Wanyama,

Can't see either coming off personally but who knows...

I'd swap Burke for an Ice lolly, he's that bad.

We were after McCarthy when we got Barry, so hopefully there is some truth to this on a short term loan, but only problem is he hasn't played much so how long would it take him to get ready to play.

I'd ask Southampton if the Harrison Reed loan at Blackburn is full season or not, I think he is the rate player and age for us.

I think Bowen at Hull is a great AMF, but will probably cost a lot.

If Barnes goes I'd consider Groski at Hull too
