Mee, Trippier and Keane were all professionals when we signed them whereas McNeil came to Burnley Academy in 2014 and was offered a scholarship in 2016, if memory serves me correctly, and he would only be 16 at that time.

I hope you're right BT, it does seem promising certainly, but looking at it dispassionately, producing one possible first team player after ten barren years could just be the law of averages at work. So I won't be getting too excited just yet.

If he becomes a £thirty/forty million EPL star we are quids in sinkov and at least the start button has been hit on the old conveyor belt.

Just seen him 'live' for the first time today BT, and I was impressed. He really could be the real deal. I was intrigued comparing him to Vydra, McNeill comparatively looked slow, but kept on getting to the ball first, and kept on getting away from his man. By comparison, Vydra looked quick, but always got there just a fraction too late.
Some of the best players I've ever seen didn't seem particularly quick, but always had plenty of time. Martin Dobson was a fine example, McNeill has that same attribute.

He has a good football brain and, although he is still learning, he is seeing things that other players do not see, this is why he is able to get a foot in a lot of the time.

Crikey sinkov, if the lad turns out to be another Dobbo, that will do for me. How did you like the VAR experience?

Well I wasn't wrong with Tarko BT, so we'll see.

I'm with Sub on VAR, when that comes in, it's full time watching Clitheroe for me. That was my first VAR game, it was also my last. I'd rather they left it to the three muppets on the field and accepted they'd get some things wrong.

#ENGU16 have made it two wins from two in the Aegean Cup, beating Moldova 5-1 this afternoon, with goals from Liam Delap (Derby, 2), Rico Richards (WBA), Lewis Richardson (Burnley) and Charlie McNeill (Man City).
