    Sheridan walks

Surely more to come from this in the next few days. Did he fall or was he pushed? Poached? Disgruntled with the lack of investment? Told not to get us promoted? Watch this space. - External Link

**** me,I didn't see that one coming,Sheridan never fails to amaze,he must have another job lined up surely,I hope that it's not back to Oldham yet again, did Carlisle make sure that his wages went in just before Christmas so that he could get his kids presents?

If he does then he's bonkers!
Why go there apart from the fact that he knows his way around the local pubs,I can't see him getting much grief from the owners, players and fans seeing as Carlisle is tipping it's toe into a playoff spot and Chesterfield are in the bottom four of the National League ?

It’s more local for him and apparently Chesterfield are offering the “biggest wage in the National League and EFL2”

You can always depend on CUFC to **** things up. Just when we are on a good run with decent football with people (like me) starting to go back the manager leaves; it was the same with the sacking of Macdonald, the optimism from the proposed Laffy takeover. and the improved vibe with Curles professional approach. Yet when we have a loser - like Greg - they stick with him for too long.

Sheridan is a big gambler so will always go after the cash.

I can't believe that he would want to head to Chesterfield when he is doing so well with Utd,just because you change your manager doesn't mean that you change your clubs fortunes as Notts can testify, what if they get relegated, the gamble wouldn't have paid off for either of them and if he's on high wages i presume that his contract is to the end of the season to see what's what
I just can't see Utd granting permission for Chesterfield to have talks with him unless they thought that he would never walk to a club who are in the bottom four of the league below

Maybe he was looking for a bit of backing after a good run - then Yates goes and there is no indication of who, if anyone, will come in. Result "**** it, I'm off"

Our Board have a history of giving poor contract terms to attract people to the Club. Maybe there was a break clause, who knows. I suspect that Sheridan learned the truth about the finances during negotiations to retain or sign players during their transfer window, then saw a much better offer come in and simply followed the money.
