Thread: McCormack confirmed

    McCormack confirmed

I must admit I didn't see that coming when speculation started.

Time will tell whether his fitness and attitude work out, if so it's hard to think anything other than this being a huge positive. He is - or at least was - so far beyond the rest of our squad in technical ability it's unreal.

But we saw in McFadden's final spells that once your body has gone, all the technical superiority in the world doesn't make up for not being able to run around at all.

However, a hugely welcome start to the transfer window and hopefully a sign of things to come - there seems little point in adding this sort of player only to belt 50 yard punts in the vague direction of his head...

A very good signing on paper. I just hope his injuries are indeed slight. Technically he's very talented and will give us something a bit extra to what we've been used to in recent years.

The big clear out also continues with Alfredo Agyeman moving on.

Obviously a bit of risk involved, but, still, the kind of signing which at least has the potential to lift players and supporters alike. It's a timely boost at this stage of the season - we do seem to be doing a bit more than just rearranging the furniture.
