We are fortunate that Ayr seems to have stalled, they have won only 1 of their last 7 league games, the one against us, and there are no guarantees they will keep Shankland. Ross County are probably going to be the biggest obstacle. Who Robbie brings in will be key to whether we mount a challenge or not. Signing Nisbet is a promising start to the transfer window.

Agree with the earlier post that the team downed tools. On the back of the Alloa performance I genuinely believe that Robbie wants to gut the squad but maybe he is being hampered in this intent by the new owner and forced to play the same dross he slated last week. It would be interesting to see if Gomis, Pawlett etc who are being linked to the club on Twitter actually appear next week. Nesbitt may have wasted a couple of good chances yesterday but his touch and pace were three yards ahead of every other United player on the park. Stanton and others only found second gear once Nesbitt came on. The only positive from yesterday is that we didn't lose. Missed a chance to make a significant dent in the gap between us and the team's above. If we're accepting draws at home to sh@t like Partick Thistle then we should chuck it now.

The team have improved very little since the start of the season - the warning signs were there for all to see - dumped out of the Scottish League Cup by drawing with Arbroath and Alloa, getting beat by Ross County, followed by defeats to Dunfermline and losing two games against Ayr - and now ( thanks to a penalty ) a 1-1 home draw with 2nd bottom Thistle.

RN will know what needs to be done, but it's a total mess with the present squad of players not good enough to beat teams at the bottom of the league - never mind winning the title.

Nesbitt looks like he will be a regular starter and will help help create a lot of assists, but he is not a goal scorer, we still need an outright striker who can turn chances into goals.

Any players getting dropped can have no complaints - they have struggled all season to hit a winning run. But I am hoping the new signings can inspire and motivate a few of the under performing players to up their game.

Then tells us through the media about splitting the training so the players that have been told they won't be playing are training separately. Next match, pretty much the same squad and team playing as last week. On top of that Curran is on the bench even though he was leaving a couple of hours later to sign for the fun?

He was at the match again (also Falkirk) yesterday, I seen him afterwards in the main reception area.

Just want to add. It is probably coming over that I'm down on Robbie at the moment but that is not the case. I back him totally and think, given time, he'll turn out to be a great manger for us.

Exactly, says they are happy to sit there and take a wage and not push for place

I think most folk will see it as an opportunity lost.

Of course it was. There won't be too many weekends of football where our closest rivals BOTH lose.

It's a gain but a pi55 poor one. We won't get many more better ones to gain 3 points on them throughout the season.

It was Partick at home FFS.
