Managers who have been around the block

I was just thinking of some managers who had managed many clubs, some in the top flight, without ever winning much but were never really failures.

Tony Mowbray, Tony Pulis and Neil Warnock quickly came to mind.

Anyone got any favourites, stories or ideas.

You can get good analysis from the linky below. Just type in the managers name in the box and you get a wealth of detail and some surprises.

Steve Bruce is the first one who comes to my mind.

Not hugely successful but neither is he a failure as a manager. FA Cup finalists, a few promotions from the Chimpo. I know our scruffy neighbours might argue differently but he still has a decent reputation as a manager.

Mick McCarthy seems to come to mind for me. He certainly looks like he's been round the block. His interviews make me laugh with his one tone proper broad Barnsley accent.

That he may be but he's managed at a few decent clubs.

Hughes and Fat Sam always come to mind for me.

Lambert as well, seems to have done a fair few clubs in his time now.

Suspect in years to come Moyes will be on this list.

    Retired now but Arry?

Of his 16 English appointments, Palace twice, QPR twice, Sheffield Utd.,Leeds.

But the thread wasn't about the manager who's the biggest tosser, so why not start one.
