This coupled with the deck foreman at my work being pals with his da. When I asked about him he said his da is saying nothing at all on the fitba front. He's usually got some story to tell me but he said his da was uncharacteristically quiet

Way back I worked with GMS’s old man in ile, nae a bad chap and his son was just a young loon, tbh, this is possibly his most important move and with agents/interested parties involved it would make sense to keep his cards close to his chest.

This is purely conjecture no evidence to say this is what has actually happened but...

It was a helluva whack he got to his napper and at the time it happened, him being spark out and whatever, I said to my son that I'd seen many similar incidents resulting in a fractured skull, even just hairline when I worked an RGN. Now if he has indeed suffered such an injury (and the club haven't released details for whatever reason) then you certainly would be advised against flying for a considerable time afterwards...
